I love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter. As a kid, I was fully addicted to Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Now that I focus on clean eating, I occasionally make peanut butter cups from scratch – using real food ingredients– to combat those cravings.

Making peanut butter cups from scratch takes time and effort. When I’m craving chocolate peanut butter, and I don’t have time to make candy, this is my go to protein shake. It’s delicious. It’s nutritious. This shake works just as well for breakfast as it does for dessert. Best of all, KIDS LOVE THIS SHAKE

Bonus Points- This is a milkshake that you can feel good about! Raw cacao provides antioxidants, bananas provide potassium, raw honey boosts the immune system, and raw organic plant protein makes the shake a perfect meal replacement. You can also drink this protein shake post workout for better recovery.


  • 2 sliced frozen bananas
  • 1 scoop Perfect Plant Protein
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 tbsp. natural peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp. raw honey
  • 2 tbsp. raw cacao


Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until the shake is rich and creamy. This shake has similar consistency to a milkshake. If necessary, add a handful of ice to the shake and blend again to keep it cool. This recipe makes 1 super delicious (and filling) protein shake.

If you want to get extra creative, try freezing this smoothie in large covered container. When frozen, use an ice cream scoop to enjoy guilt free chocolate peanut butter ice cream! This shake can also be frozen in popsicle molds to create super delicious chocolate peanut butter fudgesicles.

Feeling adventurous? Try blending an avocado into this smoothie. I promise you won’t taste the difference and avocados pack a punch of healthy fatty acids. Avocado also makes this shake even creamier and dreamier than the original recipe!
