I’M CRAZY FOR COCONUT! Are you? If so, you are going to LOVE this protein shake recipe. It features plenty of plant based protein, as well as some tasty yogurt and coconut cream- two perfect sources of healthy fats. This shake is so nutrient dense, you can even use it as a meal replacement.

Warning- this shake is high calorie BUT it is filled with HEALTHY calories. This shake is far more nutrient dense than 500 calories worth of fast food, and it will keep you fuller for much longer! Did I mention that it’s delicious?

As always, I never find a recipe on the internet that is perfect for me, so I alter the recipe depending on my needs. Here are my notes on the Coconut Cream Pie Protein Shake.

1. This recipe calls for fat-free yogurt. I DO NOT BELIEVE IN LOW FAT DAIRY PRODUCTS! Low fat dairy products are highly processed and often contain added hydrogenated oils and artificial sweeteners to replace the flavor that is lost when the fat is removed. In my version of the recipe, I used full fat organic yogurt- YUM!

2. I used Perfect Plant Protein in place of the Whey Protein.

3. I used an organic gluten free graham cracker and organic
gluten free oats.

Coconut Cream Pie Protein Shake

Directions:

Add coconut milk, banana, coconut oil, protein powder, yogurt, oats, and ice to a high speed blender. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. Top the protein shake with crushed graham cracker and shredded coconut. Enjoy! Recipe makes 1 large protein shake.
