I’m a big fan on this protein shake. In fact, I made this very protein shake, with a few changes, many times before even stumbling upon this video. I like how this woman includes the superfood flaxseed to her smoothie for a healthy dose of omega fatty acids and fiber. When I make this protein shake, I use a few different ingredients and I add an extra superfood! Here are my notes…

1. When I make this protein shake, I use Perfect Plant Protein (Vanilla) in place of VegaOne protein powder.

2. I add one heaping tbsp. of raw cacao for an added boost of antioxidants and minerals. Raw cacao is a true superfood- perfect for boosting energy! Mineral rich protein shakes help to replenish the minerals depleted during exercise.

3. I also add one tbsp. of raw honey to the protein shake for a bit of natural sweetness.

4. When using almond milk in a protein shake, try to use the cleanest almond milk you can find. Usually this means choosing organic or making the almond milk yourself.

Chocolate Pudding Protein Shake

  • 1 cup organic almond milk
  • 1 scoop Perfect Plant Protein
  • 2 tbsp. flax seed
  • 1/2 sliced frozen banana
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 tbsp. raw cacao
  • 1 tbsp. raw honey

Directions: Combine almond milk, protein powder, flaxseed, raw cacao, and raw honey. Blend on high until fully mixed. Add frozen banana and avocado and then blend until smooth. If you’d like, you can thicken this protein shake with a couple of ice cubes or thin the shake with a bit more almond milk.

By adding raw cacao and raw honey, you boost the nutrients found in this protein shake while also giving the shake a rich chocolate flavors. You may second guess the avocado, but I promise that you won’t taste it! Enjoy!
